Genco Shipping & Trading reported a second-quarter loss that was largely in-line with analysts estimates as dry bulk freight rates bounced back from last year's lows.

The New York-listed company reported a net loss of $14.5m for the second quarter of 2017, compared to a $110.7m loss in the year-earlier period. Adjusted loss per share of $0.36 was better than analysts' mean estimate of a $0.41
