MOL is eyeing a tenfold expansion of its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) fleet in the period to 2023 as the Japanese shipowner grows and diversifies its gas fleet.
MOL senior managing executive officer Takeshi Hashimoto, who has special responsibility for LNG, offshore, tankers and steaming coal, said: “Ideally, I want to fix one or two FSRU contracts per year, which means that within five, six years’ time perhaps we can build up our FSRU portfolio to about 10.
