Things will get tough on 1 April when the Ocean Network Express (ONE) operation goes live, says chief executive Jeremy Nixon.

Ahead of that, he says rivals will try to poach business, destabilise the operation and make life awkward for the company.

So the liner industry veteran, who was appointed chief executive of Singapore-based ONE last July after the announcement of the planned merger of the container operations of Japan's NYK Line, K Line and MOL, is implementing a plan to make sure that the Japanese liner operator retains the loyalty of customers.
