Hyundai Glovis is set to increase its bulker tonnage by buying secondhand vessels.

Lee Sung Chul, vice president of its shipping business division, tells TradeWinds the company is planning to acquire up to five bulkers.

Hyundai Glovis already owns six bulkers but operates between 140 and 150 ships in the sector.

“The dry bulk market has improved and the level [rate] is higher than the vessel’s price,” Lee said.
