DHT Holdings expects more than 40 VLCCs to be scrapped this year in a freight market depressed by Opec cuts.
New York-listed DHT says at least 23 VLCCs have been scrapped in the year to date.
“Would not be surprised to see that hit at least 40 ships this year and that could easily go further,” said co-chief executive Svein Moxnes Harfjeld on a conference call today.
