Utility firm Sembcorp Energy India has awarded a 10-year contract of affreightment (COA) for steam coal to Norden.

A total of 12m tonnes of cargo will be carried under the contract, which will employ panamax bulk carriers both owned and chartered in by the Danish shipowner.

The coal will be loaded at unnamed ports in Indonesia and South Africa and discharged at the port of Krishnapatnam, east coast India, once the contract commences on 1 April.
