Irish Ferries lawyers have appeared in Ireland's high court to fight a passenger compensation order arising from a delayed vessel delivery.

The owner had to cancel sailings last year because the 50,000-gt WB Yeats (built 2018) was late from Germany's Flensburger yard.

It is challenging a January decision by the National Transport Authority (NTA) that it breached EU regulations concerning the rights of passengers travelling by sea, the Irish Independent reported.
