Navios Maritime Holdings widened its third-quarter loss amid losing control of Navios Maritime Containers, which debuted on US markets in December 2018.

The Angeliki Frangou-led boxship owner reported $39.1m in net loss attributable to common shareholders versus a $1.82m attributable net deficit during the same period in 2018.

The 2019 loss included a $61.7m hit as a result of losing control of Navios Containers, which began trading as NMCI after a previous failed attempt to list on Nasdaq.
