The paper market for capesize contracts exploded on Tuesday on the back of increasingly firm fixtures being reported in the physical market.
It was, as one source told TradeWinds, a day on which market participants "finally dared to believe" that the upturn is "real".
"It seemed like the last short was squeezed out of the market today," one forward freight agreement (FFA) broker told TradeWinds on Tuesday.
