The company said the unit will work on a project in the North Malay Basin.
The contract is worth $191.8m over 20 months.
EA completed its Kuala Lumpur IPO in December, raising $24m.
It said at the time it planned to convert a tanker into an FSO in 2015.
The company has five tankers, including two 10,000-dwt ships built in 2010.
It also charters in two LPG carriers and operates a floating storage vessel, along with 14 tugs.
