Dutch owner Royal Boskalis Westminster has claimed it will operate the world's first solely biofuels-powered dredger.
It is teaming up with Dutch supplier GoodFuels to run the 21,200-dwt cutter suction unit Willem van Oranje (built 2010) only on the sustainable bunkers, following earlier successful tests with ‘drop-in’ blends of light biofuel and marine gas oil.
