Elementary questions remain unanswered after the deadly collision of NYK Line's 2,858-teu ACX Crystal (built 2008) and destroyer USS Fitzgerald last weekend, an incident that US and Japanese authorities time nearly an hour apart, with controversial consequences.
The collision injured the warship's captain and four other crew members and took the lives of seven whose bodies were found trapped in flooded compartments.
