A new Greek company called Mercury Maritime has taken delivery of its first bulker.

The Athens outfit, registered with Greek authorities by Jason Merkouris late last year, will manage the 36,600-dwt Serenity (ex-Nord Rotterdam, built 2011).

The Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard-built vessel reportedly changed hands in March for about $11.5m, but its buyers were been revealed at the time.

The new company aims to eventually expand the fleet with a few more bulkers over the next months and years, provided circumstances are right, TradeWinds has been told.
