Turkish billionaire Mehmet Emin Karamehmet is said to have turned to Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction (HHIC) in the Philippines for a quartet of aframax tanker newbuildings, although some sources are expressing doubt about the reports.
Shipbuilding sources said Cukurova Holding — which is best known in shipping for its subsidiary Geden Lines — placed an order four 113,000-dwt crude tankers at the Subic-based yard for delivery from the second half of 2020.
