Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) has signed two newbuilding contracts worth a combined KRW 1.284trn ($1.04bn).

The South Korean shipbuilding group said in a regulatory filing that its subsidiary yards have signed contracts with a Liberian owner and a Middle Eastern company. It did not disclose their identities.

The orders involve six 7,900-teu boxships and two pure car/truck carriers (PCTCs).
