Sasebo Heavy Industries has completed its planned shift from newbuilding to the ship repair and machinery business following the conversion of its number four dock in Nagasaki.
Its newly fitted-out repair dock is 400 metres long and 57 metres wide, making it capable of handling most ship types.
The Nagasaki site has a total quayside length of 1,200 metres.
