A Finnish bulk carrier operator has signed a shipping agreement with a leading Swedish steelmaker.
ESL Shipping of Helsinki, part of the Aspo Group, made the agreement with SSAB, a manufacturer of high grade steel based in Stockholm.
It runs until March 2014.
The contract covers the movement of 2m tonnes of steel pellets per year from Luleå in the northern Baltic.
ESL’s fleet consists of 16 vessels, three of which are chartered in while one is part-owned.
They vary in size from 13,000 to 20,000-dwt.
