Dae Sun, the South Korean mid-sized shipbuilder, looks to have secured its first newbuilding contract of 2017.
Japanese shipowner Shokuyu Tankers has ordered a single 3,500-dwt stainless steel chemical tanker, yard officials confirm to TradeWinds.
The Busan-based shipyard said it expects to deliver the vessel by the third quarter of 2018. No financial terms were disclosed.
This is the third in a series of 3,500-dwt tankers to be ordered at Dae Sun since September last year by domestic shipowners HNCC and Samby Shipping.
