Black Sea tankers continue to earn a premium as ships flee the region amid heightened security concerns.

The Baltic Exchange said on Wednesday that an aframax on a Black Sea to Mediterranean oyage would earn $157,771 per day, a slight drop on a time charter equivalent basis from Tuesday, but still considerably higher than on other trades.

Data from Kpler shows the number of suezmax and aframax tankers in the Black Sea has dropped from 60 to 43, sending rates higher in recent days.
