Aframaxes in the Atlantic Basin are earning the best rates of the year thanks to a US pipeline outage and lightering demand.
The Baltic Exchange Caribbean-to-US Gulf voyage saw rates reach World Scale (WS) 170 to close the week, with time-charter equivalent assessed at $20,647 per day.
Those are some of the best rates seen since Hurricane Harvey caused a back up of vessel discharges and tightened supply.
