Venezuela’s PDVSA has finally managed to take delivery of an aframax tanker it ordered at Iran ­Marine Industrial Co, 13 years after the contract was inked.

IHS Ships Register and other databases indicate ownership of the 113,000-dwt Arita (ex-Sorocaima, built 2015) passed to Albanave, a subsidiary of the state oil major, in the second half of last year.

Albanave, with the Arita as its only ship and its contact details listed as being care of its technical manager Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement in Cyprus, appears to be one of the many mysterious single-ship owning entities in the industry.
