Otto Marine has won an order for a products tanker to be built at its Indonesian shipyard Batamec.
The Singapore-listed company said a contract worth $14m has been signed for the construction of a 6,500-dwt unit with an Indonesian state-owned enterprise.
Batamec will deliver the vessel in the second quarter of 2018, when it will start its operations in Indonesian waters.
This is a rare contract for Otto’s facility in Indonesia, as Batamec mostly constructs offshore support vessels and tugs.
