S&P Global Platts is to begin publishing daily cargo and barge assessments for low sulphur fuels from 2 January 2019.
It says the decision follows “extensive consultation with the industry” after it opened a formal review of its global residuals and bunker fuel assessments in February 2017.
The launch of these assessments would come 12 months ahead of the planned introduction of new sulfur limits in marine fuels by the IMO from 1 January 2020.
