The long-suffering chemical tanker market could finally be about to pick up, thanks to improvements in demand and a tightening in the supply of tonnage. But opinions differ on when the rebound could begin.
Since 2009, the market has largely been mired in recession. During that time, Clarksons' chemical tanker spot earnings index has seen the market trade above its mid-cycle range only briefly for a period in 2015 and early 2016.
