US officials are claiming Iran has seized a crude tanker, while state media in Tehran has countered with reports that its military fought off a US attempt to steal its oil.

On 24 October, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy seized a Vietnam-flag tanker in the Gulf of Oman, US officials told the Associated Press on Wednesday.
