Two large cruiseship companies have kicked off initiatives to track down LNG supply to utilise for future bunkering operations.

Industry sources tell Trade­Winds that both Carnival Cruises and Disney Cruise Line have circulated requests for offers on LNG supply, initially from traditional marine bunker suppliers.

Full details as to the volumes and bunkering locations indicated have yet to emerge.

Neither company responded to requests for comment.

They suggest that energy companies, who are generally long on LNG supply at present, are looking at the business, naming companies such as Shell, Engie and Total among those who have shown interest.

But
