A federal judge in Seattle has refused to throw out an order against a Cosco Shipping Group containership that was seized in a David-and-Goliath repair dispute with small shipowner Great Ocean Shipping Line (GO).

US District Judge Ricardo Martinez denied an emergency request by Cosco Atlantic Shipping, a shipowning affiliate of the state-controlled Chinese giant, to vacate an order seizing the 10,000-teu Cosco Taicang (built 2009), according to a court docket reviewed by TradeWinds.
