A Russian dry-bulk charterer has gone to Greece in the hope of putting a controversial shipowner behind bars.

Dmitry Baran, president and founder of Moscow-based Galvanized Steel Consumer Association (GSCA), is looking to London as well, where he hopes to win an arbitration award of $15.95m against handysize owner Evangelos Saravanos and the companies he controls.

Saravanos is the shipowner behind Piraeus-based Thesarco Shipping and Argosy Shipmanagement, according to legal papers filed by GSCA.
