Four tankers controlled by Sweden’s Stena Bulk have been given permission to transit the Northern Sea Route (NSR) this season.

Records show that the ice-class 1A, 65,000-cbm Stena Antarctica (built 2010), Stena Atlantica (built 2006), Stena Penguin and Stena Polaris (both built 2010) have been given the green light by The Northern Sea Route Administration in Russia.

The permits on three of the ships allow them to navigate the route in the period of 1 July to 30 November this year.
