China’s Seacon Shipping Group has taken another step to boost its presence in the capesize bulker segment by acquiring a secondhand vessel.

The deal marks the third capesize purchase since the company jumped into the sector in 2019.

Primarily a handymax and panamax bulker owner, Seacon has bought the 203,200-dwt Pacific Oak (built 2005) from Japanese owner Miyazaki Sangyo Kaiun, sale-and-purchase sources said.
