French line CMA CGM has carried out its first bunkering with sustainable biofuel.
The 5,095-teu CMA CGM White Shark (built 2007) took on the oil at a trial in Rotterdam on Saturday.
The fuel is supplied by GoodFuels in a scheme also involving the port and Ikea.
It marks a "major step for sustainable marine biofuel oil as [a] credible decarbonising fuel option for sector," the companies said.
