The Japanese liner operator’s appeared as a defendant in an amended version of the $1.82m case, the largest of several lodged over the casualty on the company’s 5,610-teu Suez Canal Bridge (built 2012).

As TradeWinds reported in September, the vessel was in the Atlantic en route to the United States when it encountered heavy weather, sending several containers overboard.

Indemnity filed its lawsuit that month over cargoes that it insured for apparel companies Old Navy, The Gap, Banana Republic and ES Sutton.
