The Baltic Exchange Dry Index (BDI) is on the brink of falling below yet another benchmark, having declined several hundred points in the past two months.

The index sits precariously at 1,304 as of Tuesday after first breaking the 2,000-point barrier on 26 September, according to the Baltic Exchange.

The BDI fell below several hundred-point marks in the ensuing weeks, including 1,898 on 15 October, 1,697 on 1 November and 1,428 on 7 November.
