South Korean shipping company HMM and Japan’s NYK Bulk & Projects (NBP) have set up a new joint venture heavy lift and break-bulk service running between the Middle East and Far East.

NBP, a subsidiary of Japanese shipping giant NYK Line, specialises in heavy-lift and project cargoes, while HMM specialises in multipurpose services to the Middle East.

The pair said the new partnership would “benefit from their strengths and expertise in the carriage of break-bulk and project cargo between Japan and Korea and the Middle East and lead to the development of future opportunities.”
