Japan's K Line has won class approval in principle for a new LNG-fuelled ore carrier.
It is working with DNV GL and domestic yard Namura Shipbuilding to develop an updated version of the Wozmax (West Oz) bulker.
The aim is to maintain almost the same capacity at 250,000 dwt, and ensure enough endurance for a round trip between Singapore and Brazil in gas-fuel mode.
