Japan’s Tamai Steamship has placed an order for a 58,000-dwt bulk carrier at Oshima Shipbuilding.

The vessel will be owned through its Liberian subsidiary, TS Central Shipping, and delivered in the first quarter of 2025.

The bulker has been ordered as replacement tonnage.

Tamai currently owns and operates four supramax bulkers, the oldest of which is the 54,958-dwt Zen-Noh Grain Pegasus (built 2010).
