Tomini Shipping has bought a supramax bulker from Trader Maritime of Greece, using what chief executive Nitin Mehta described as “some money lying around”.
The company has acquired the 57,000-dwt Bravo V (built 2010), which Mehta confirmed was handed over on Monday.
Market sources suggested Tomini paid about $6.5m for the ship. Mehta would neither confirm nor deny the price.
