Vale has resumed loading operations at its Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (TRMT) in Malaysia after shutting it down in late March amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Brazilian iron ore giant closed the loading centre on 24 March based on its inability "to secure the minimum resources" to run it during the viral outbreak.

"Since then, Vale and authorities have been assessing the pandemic development in the region and making sure adequate health and safety protocols are in place," the Eduardo de Salles Bartolomeo-led company said.
