Liner operator Zim has taken several boxships for periods of up to four years with some deliveries stretching into next year.
The Israeli company is taking the ships in a market where longer fixtures with forward fixtures have become the norm, according to brokers.
The company is understood to have taken two large post-panamax vessels controlled by Germany's Offen Group for long-term charters.
