A Greek bulker has for the second time in two months managed to survive a pirate attack off the coast of Somalia, TradeWinds has learned.

Armed guards onboard the 35,500-dwt Achilleas fired warning shots as pirates in a fast-moving skiff approached the vessel 215 miles east of the Yemeni island of Socotra on Tuesday morning.

Armed guards sent pirates running.

The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) mentions the incident in its Live Piracy Report but does not identify the ship concerned.
