A Greek bulker has been detained in South Africa in a dispute over a phosphate cargo involving the Polisario independence movement of Western Sahara.

The 60,000-dwt AN Nomikos-controlled NM Cherry Blossom (built 2015) has been held in Port Elizabeth, Reuters reported.

It was carrying 50,000 tonnes of phosphate from Laayoune in the Moroccan part of the disputed territory for Moroccan state-run producer OCP.
