New Zealand's Coastal Bulk Shipping has signed a deal to ship barley for Malteurop NZ.

It said the long-term partnership will see it move a "significant portion" of the producer's annual harvest using the 400-dwt Anatoki (built 1992) between the ports of Timaru and Whanganui, according to the Scoop website.

Malteurop is New Zealand’s largest malting company.

Its operations manager Glen Simmonds said the decision to firm its arrangement with the owner had grown from the effects of the Kaikoura earthquake.
