Hong Kong’s Taylor Maritime has acquired a handysize bulker from Malaysian Bulk Carriers (MBC) as it continues to expand its fleet.
Sources say the Ed Buttery-controlled company has paid $7m for the Kanda-built, 32,600-dwt Alam Sakti (built 2006) — a price in line with expectations. The ship passed special survey in February. MBC bought it in October 2009 as Ikan Juara for $23.75m.
