George Economou’s Christmas shopping has included a $14.58m splash on Danaos Shipping shares.
Greek shipowner Economou, a Danaos director since 2010, has picked up an extra 5.4 million shares in the company, an SEC filing shows.
The buy takes his interest in Danaos to 21.61 million shares and gives him a 19.69% stake in the John Coustas-led company.
His overall holding is worth $58.4m
