Icelandic line Eimskip says it has secured "favourable financing" for its containership newbuildings in China.

Two 2,150-teu vessels are due from Guangzhou Wenchong in 2019.

They are costing $32m each, and the payment profile is 40% during the building period and 60% upon delivery.

The January contract was subject to financing and that has now been lifted after Eimskip secured 80% of the contract price in euros over 15 years from delivery.
