Namura Shipbuilding has slumped to a first half loss of JPY10.4bn ($98.7m), figures released Friday show.

The loss marked a sizeable turnaround for the mid-sized shipbuilder which last year reported a net profit of just over JPY 4bn.

The Tokyo-listed shipbuilder said revenue for the six months was JPY 68.1bn versus the JPY 70.9bn seen twelve months earlier.

Namura now anticipates making a full-year loss of JPY 11bn against a profit of JPY 7.3bn
