Kirby's largest shareholder has slashed its position in the US-listed barge owner by more than half.

Edinburgh-based asset manager Baillie Gifford & Co sold roughly 4.1m Kirby shares, cutting its stake to 3.2m, filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission show.

The Scottish form now owns 5.32% of the company.

Baillie Gifford had been Kirby's top investor since early 2019, when it bumped its holding to 7.7m
