Almost all of about 30 New York-listed shipping stocks fell today with the Dow Jones Industrial Average following President Trump's call for $60bn in tariffs on Chinese imports.

The DJIA fell 724 points to 23,958 after Trump directed U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to announce within 15 days a proposed list of goods to be hit with tariff increases.

Amid the Dow's fall, all but three of 29 shipping stocks trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market declined, two falling more than 5%.
