Tallink has guided for lower profitability in 2016 after its bottom line fell in the traditionally strong second quarter.

The Estonian ferry owner reported net profit of EUR 9.8m ($10.9m) between April to June, against EUR 28.5m in the same spell of 2015.

Despite carrying more passengers and cargo units, revenue declined by 3.4% to EUR 245.2m.

Tallink explained the sale of two ships and the termination of a charter were the main reasons for the drop.
