The weaker Korean won and one-off gains have helped struggling shipbuilder DSME post a 24.2% increase in its first-quarter profit.

The world’s third-largest shipbuilder reported a net profit of KRW 243bn ($197m) versus the KRW 195bn seen a year earlier.

DSME said it received about KRW 200bn in an additional payment from an unidentified client over an offshore project, but gave no further details.
